In the heart of the city’s old quarter, close to the church of Santa María and hidden between buildings stand the remains of one of the six slender towers, ending in battlements, that were part of the castle of Linares. The castle, next to a piece of wall, is all that is left of the fortress that we can now recreate from old plans and drawings made by painters and historians.
Location and Access
The scarce remains of the castle that have been preserved are integrated into the urban layout of Linares. Having access to them amidst the dividing walls of the buildings is difficult because permission must be obtained from the owners.
